Peter Carlson can't resist trotting out the tired chickenhawk argument in his Style section feature on The Weekly Standard's 10-year anniversary, suggesting editor William Kristol follow Teddy Roosevelt's example and lead Rough Riders into battle (Carlson, we want to win the war, okay?). And a conservative who loves the magazine, as I do, could quibble with some other comments. But he finds much to praise, and we have it on record that at least somebody at the Post has an informed view of the Minutemen:
This summer, [Matt] Labash spent time with the Minutemen -- the controversial organization that patrols the Mexican border, trying to deter illegal immigrants -- and his nuanced piece shows that the Minutemen aren't xenophobic vigilantes, as they are sometimes portrayed.
