Metro section writer Petula Dvorak writes a nicely balanced story about military families and the war in Battle Lines Behind the Battle Lines on B1. But its hook is that families protesting the war or protesting the protesters are reacting to Cindy Sheehan. And in keeping with past practice at the Post, Sheehan's record is sanitized:
Both sides embrace the slogan "Support our troops." They just disagree on how to do it. They also were inspired by the same person: Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son in combat and kept a vigil near President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Tex., through most of August.
So when Dvorak quotes these Sheehan supporters:
They sat in their Hinesville, Ga., living room for months, cursing at the television reports from Iraq.
"Then we saw Cindy in Texas," said Linda Waste, holding tight to the table's edge on the bumping bus. Her husband picked up her thought: "And then we heard people call her unpatriotic. And that was it."
Personally I'd like to know if the Wastes think any of the following is unpatriotic, or just ballpark looney-tunes:
President Bush is an "evil maniac" who should "sign up his two little party-animal girls" for the war.
Bush is the "biggest terrorist," and is promoting the "cancer of Pax Americana" and "imperialism in the Middle East" with the help of other "war criminals" in the executive branch and Congress...
Sheehan said she has "no animosity" for the "person who killed my son," while foreign insurgents are "freedom fighters" and last January the Iraqis held a "sham election."
Maybe not. Maybe the Wastes and others backing Sheehan think all of that is just fine. I'd like to know that too, not to mention whether the Wastes even know these statements exist. Because if all they rely on is the Post and most of mainstream media, they don't.

I had a desire to begin my commerce, however I didn't earn enough amount of cash to do it. Thank God my close fellow said to utilize the home loans. Thus I took the car loan and realized my desire.
