Why does Howard Kurtz (just one in a long list) think InstaGuy Glenn Reynolds is a conservative? On his CNN program Reliable Sources, he just described him as such in a perfectly reasonable segment with Glenn, Ariana Huffington and Jeff Jarvis of Buzz Machine. Reynolds, on the way to commenting about something else, mentioned he didn't think he was a "true conservative," and I think he's on solid ground. He didn't have time to go into this, but Reynolds is pro-choice, supports embronic stem-cell research, supports gay marriage, et cetera. Reynolds is sort of a generic libertarian (though there's not much that's generic about Reynolds). Reynolds supports the war against terrorism and both of the first two Amendments to the Constitution. That's most of what your generic conservative will find on the Reynolds menu, and for this he's usually described as a conservative by not very inquiring minds. In the old days he would have been called Scoop Jackson.
