Jimmy Massey in the Post
Michelle Malkin has been pointing to a story by Ron Harris in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch debunking the Iraq war-atrocity claims of Jimmy Massey. Harris:
...Each of his claims is either demonstrably false or exaggerated - according to his fellow Marines, Massey's own admissions, and the five journalists who were embedded with Massey's unit, including a reporter and photographer from the Post-Dispatch and reporters from The Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal....
A quick check of the Washington Post's archive turns up one story from Dec. 8 last year: Former Marine Testifies To Atrocities in Iraq on A20. I'm not inclined to pay to read it; the abstract says Massey was the chief witness in a Canadian refugee board hearing for U.S. Army deserter Jeremy Hinzman. Malkin notes that Justin Katz among others was skeptical about Massey for a long time.
Update: Malkin has a link to the Post's Dec. 8, 2004 story, and has queried reporter Doug Struck about a correction or follow-up.
