Paging Soccer Dad

Baltiblogger Soccer Dad will understand this post by John Armor over at Newsbusters much more than I will:

Thanks to the efforts of investigative reporters for WBAL in Baltimore, which has just broken the story, the former third-ranked official for the Democrat Party in Maryland has been outed as the original source for sexual slanders against Baltimore’s Democrat Mayor, Martin O’Malley, who is currently running for Governor.

If I recall all of this correctly, the "sexual slanders" were unsubstantiated rumors of infidelity.  A staffer for Republican governor Robert Ehrlich lost his job when questions arose about the role he may have played in passing them on. Soccer Dad blogged about the dispute earlier this year, for example in this post from May (and it's funny that I'm linking back to that, since his latest post is about the renewed traffic an old post can generate. Just trying to help.)

Newsbusters blogger Armor notes he's a longtime associate (posts, speaks at rallies etc.) of Free Republic, where an unidentified poster named MD4Bush played a a key role in all of this. I'm still drawing diagrams based on Tom Maguire's dissertations about Libby and Wilson and Plame and Russert, so if you want more on this try Newsbusters now and probably Soccer Dad later.
