The Post isn't the only paper that can write what it wishes rather than what is. Yesterday, in The Washington Times, Vatican Bars All Gays As Priests by Julia Duin:
The Vatican's long-awaited new guidelines on homosexual seminarians were released yesterday, barring even celibate homosexuals from seminary.
"Those who are actively homosexual, have deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called gay culture" should be barred, the nine-page document said...
Countless blogs and probably even actual people talking face-to-face have been debating exactly what has been instructed in this Instruction, something you'd scarcely guess from the story. For me, Catholic Blog Central is Amy Welborn, and I'll supply links at the end of this item to some of the conversations there. What's going to happen in my irrelevant opinion is that many superiors responsible for vetting vocations will have discussions about how deeply seated a deeply seated tendency is.
The Times and Duin recover somewhat today with Vatican paper on gays reveals split, though with not so much as a never mind about yesterday's story.
