Via Stephen Spruiell, we learn Another Attempt comments on a Robin Wright/Saad Sarhan story, In Cities Bush Cited, Progress is Relative:
In a tale of two cities, President Bush yesterday heralded progress in northern Mosul and southern Najaf as new models for rebuilding Iraq.
But last Friday, Iraq's government imposed emergency law and a curfew in Sunni-dominated Mosul and throughout Ninevah province, and a senior U.S. official in Baghdad yesterday referred to the city of about 1.7 million as "nasty Mosul."...
Another Attempt says:
Seriously, read the entire thing. Every time it's the same story: "Here's a piece of good news Bush said, although he failed to mention this piece of bad news." Do the media really, really, really not see that for the last 2 and a half years they've been saying Iraq is going down the toilet, Iraq is falling apart, Iraq is a failure. And now, the one time we hear good news, they have to counter every point with all this "bad" news as if it's actually "news"?..
Yes. Yes, they do. And Double-Plus Ultra with Robin Wright, who never saw good news that wasn't bad and bad news that wasn't worse. Her previous "For The Record" was President's 'Strategy For Victory' Does Not Address Problems. But of course.
