Oh heck, we won't have to wait: The Post places Hoyer Remark 'Racist,' GOP's Steele Charges on B2, a brief story about House minority (Democrat) whip Steny Hoyer saying Steele has "slavishly" followed the Republican party. Steele is black, oops. We need not hold our breath to see whether this will ever be featured on the Post's front page, as Michael Shear's macaca story was, or whether it will be followed by heart-rending features about hurt feelings and a couple dozen follow-ups that determined yep, George Allen said macaca.
Frankly I doubt Hoyer meant anything racist by it, but turnabout is fair play and I think the Post should err on the side of diligence. Forty-seven stories to go.

I'd agree that the hypocrisy is astounding. But Steele and the Republicans are being disingenuous. This "scandal" is as significant as the DC employee who used the term "niggardly."
Yes, sigh, I'll probably vote for Steele anyway. I understand what he's doing; it seems extremely cynical.
