Let's see. My friend Soccer Dad tipped me off to Heart valves grown from womb fluid cells, blogged by Gina Cobb. From the AP story by Lindsay Tanner:
CHICAGO - Scientists for the first time have grown human heart valves using stem cells from the fluid that cushions babies in the womb — offering a revolutionary approach that may be used to repair defective hearts in the future...
"This may open a whole new therapy concept to the treatment of congenital heart defects," said Dr. Simon Hoerstrup, a University of Zurich scientist who led the work, which was presented Wednesday at an American Heart Association conference.
Also at the meeting, Japanese researchers said they had grown new heart valves in rabbits using cells from the animals' own tissue. It's the first time replacement heart valves have been created in this manner, said lead author Dr. Kyoko Hayashida.
The chances that the Washington Post carried this are.... nil. These techniques don't involve the destruction of human embryos, so zzzzzzzz.
In contrast to the paper, washingtonpost.com carries the AP report online, if you know enough to go looking for it on the search engine. (My keywords usually are "Not covered by Rick Weiss")
washingtonpost.com also has Amniotic Stem Cells Offer Hope Against Congenital Heart Defects, filed Tuesday by Amanda Gardner for something called HealthDay.
So Gardner beat AP by a day, and the Washington Post by "ever."

But the left would rather further cheapen our opinion in regards to the sanctity of human life.
